   The scan EXE files unmanaged switches, APs, cameras, printers, and PCs by OUI and hostname. Unknown stays Other until Move. Full nmap later. Not the PC Agent inventory EXE.

   Known cameras file as cameras, and you can name them

   LAN scan and a UniFi pull read Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Uniview, Hanwha, Reolink, Amcrest, and UniFi Protect/UVC so those hosts land on Cameras instead of Other. Techs type a shop name (Lobby cam) on Move, Set, and the plant lists. Hostname and MAC stay the scan identity.

   • ●Hardcoded OUI + hostname/model map — no shop-editable vendor DB, no ONVIF, no LDAP bind, no switch scrape.
   • ●Find, Cameras, Air, Printers, and Computers show the shop name. Controller hostname stays hidden on UniFi Set.
   • ●Unknown MACs still sit on Others until you Move them or a pull names the model. UniFi official API overlay is not 100%.

2. this deploy

   LAN scan helper no longer flashes a window

   The optional LAN scan helper (the Others-page download that inventories a shop LAN over ARP/ping) ran its background scan by launching powershell.exe directly, so a black console could flash and steal focus. Package 2026.09.18.2 runs the scan through a windowless host, the same way the PC Agent already does.

   • ●The scheduled task LanternLanScan is Hidden=true and its action is wscript → LanternPcHidden.exe (CREATE_NO_WINDOW), not powershell.exe. Scan diagnostics go to a log file, not the screen.
   • ●Re-download the LAN scan EXE and run it once. It deletes the old bare-powershell task and re-registers the hidden one. Password hashes untouched.
